Description of initiative
Puppets Project got born from the wish of bringing creative work within a psychiatric service for children and teenagers by the Compagnie Pipa Sol, an organisation which is bringing the art of puppets closer to the general public for many years. The puppets are seen in this project as a great pedagogical tool that can facilitate the expression of the children and it is a great mediator between reality and imaginary. The project was opened for 6 hospitalized children from the Théophile Roussel Hospital Center and 3 groups of 8 teenagers. They have discovered different types of puppets and techniques, how to manipulate the puppets, they co-created scenarios, draw the characters, built puppets, perform and present their artistic moment in front of the public.

The project ended with the final show "The fantastic world of puppets of the puppets" on April 11, 2018. The children of the units La Fontaine and Lakanal were able to put forward all the work done on 15 sessions by performing on stage and in front of an audience. After 30 hours of workshops led by Christine DELATTRE, puppeteer and director of the Pipa Sol Company, the children and their caregivers have discovered, created, made and manipulated different types of puppets presented during the show (with girdle, wire, table, muppets). An exhibition was held the same day and a booklet was given to each participant.
Some insights of the final show are available in a short video.
