A Mile in My Shoes | Empathy Museum

A Mile in My Shoes is an itinerant exhibition that explores the theme of empathy. The exhibition simulates the shelves of a shoe store, giving visitors the opportunity to try on and walk in someone else's shoes while listening to their life story. The stories cover different aspects of life, from loss and pain, to hope and love and take the visitor on an empathic and physical journey. It considers advances in neuro-scientific research that challenge the myth that we are exclusively self-interested and suggest that empathy is a skill that can be learnt.
