On 17 February 2025, the ‘CultureAndHealth Platform: Opportunities for Artists’ online event was attended by 96 people. The event was divided in two parts:
- Part 1 was an information session about the objectives and upcoming actions of the CultureAndHealth platform: the calls for project implementation and opportunities for capacity building.
- Part 2 was a capacity building session on “working as an artist in the care and healthcare environment”
In part 1, Kornelia Kiss, Head of Culture and Health at Culture Action Europe, introduced the CultureAndHealth platform, presented its main objectives and the platform members across the EU. Thereafter, Marie Wittig, Project Assistant for Culture and Health at Culture Action Europe, presented the project's planned activities for this year.
Two EU-wide calls for applications were introduced: The first, presented by Sofia Sacchini, Project Manager at Oltre Associazione Culturale, offers an internship in Bologna, Italy, for artists across Europe interested in "relational art." The second, organized by RED NOSES International and presented by Magdalena Klamminger, Head of International Artistic Department, is a capacity-building program.
In part 2 , Viltautė Žemelytė, Head of International Programs at RED NOSES International, provided valuable insights on how it is to work for creative professionals in the healthcare sector. Kornelia afterwards presented further tools for artists such as the CultureForHealth Compendium: a Guide for Practitioners and the “Creative Health Quality Framework and its 8 Principles” developed by Culture, Health & Wellbeing Alliance and Jane Willis based on 7 workshops of 150 people in 2022 and supported by Arts Council England. The CultureAndHealth platform and its members adopted these 8 principles for their work in the upcoming 4 years.
